Retaining many original features, Autumn Lodge exudes Edwardian charm, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that instantly feels like home. Tastefully converted from three red-brick Edwardian houses, every room radiates friendly familiarity, feeling like a true home, not a “Care Home.”
Step inside, and you'll find yourself immersed in a world of engaging experiences tailored to enrich every individual journey, where design and décor create a characterful environment providing both stimulation and comfort.
Our main lounge, the heart of our home, always buzzes with activity, offering a space for entertainment and social connection. The adjacent sunlit conservatory leads onto our walled garden and cheerful aviary, home to a delightful gang of budgies.
We also have a communal snug that has proved to be a haven of relaxation, whether watching television or indulging in quiet reflection. Nearby, another extended sunny conservatory awaits, perfect for family visits, creative arts and crafts, or simply unwinding amidst the garden views.
As for the bedrooms, each reflects the unique character of building, boasting modern, light-filled spaces with airy décor. Designed with personalisation in mind, they offer ample space for displaying cherished memories, photos, artwork, and more, ensuring a true home-away-from-home feel.
You can rest assured that our friendly maintenance team is always on hand, ready to assist with any personal touches you’d like to add to your space, whether it’s hanging a picture or adding a couple of extra shelves.

Each room offers round-the-clock care, with nurse call points for peace of mind. Our staff provide personal care, assist with bathing and dressing, and discreetly attend to incontinence needs. Medication is carefully monitored and dispensed.

Outside, our garden is a sheltered sun trap that delights the senses year-round, complete with a wildlife pond and waterfall. Seasonal planting provides vibrant bursts of colour and fragrant aromas, all close to the cheerful aviary, where our residents can enjoy the delightful chatter that fills the air every day. On warm days, this area becomes a vibrant community space, inviting alfresco dining, a spot to enjoy leisurely tea and cake, and a chance to soak up the atmosphere. We also use the space to put on some of our big events such as our vintage tea party or Wild West themed summer barbecue.

Every dish at Autumn Lodge is a celebration of flavour, crafted by our dedicated team of chefs. We prioritise nutrition and expertly cater to all dietary needs, using fresh ingredients sourced from our local traditional butchers, R.C. Secker (just around the corner, and highly recommended), and greengrocers. Each meal is designed to not only nourish but also delight the senses.
Residents enjoy full board with a choice of menu options, and our chefs take pride in offering diverse dishes to ensure everyone finds something to enjoy, whether it’s a hearty vegetarian option or any other special dietary requirement. Highly anticipated is our daily hotel-style sweet trolley, featuring a tempting array of desserts. It’s not just about the breakfast, lunch and dinner—our freshly baked cakes for afternoon teas and birthday cakes add a touch of homemade goodness to every occasion.
On themed entertainment days, our head chef loves to shine, showcasing culinary skills with signature dishes like the famous Steak and Guinness Pie for St. Patrick’s Day or homemade Leek Soup for St. David’s Day. Each meal is a testament to the unique catering service we offer, tailored to nourish and satisfy.
With a selection of hot or cold drinks available throughout the day, along with extra snacks and teas always on hand, you’ll never go hungry at Autumn Lodge. We also provide hospitality trays for
guests and any other visitors.
Once a month, we indulge in a takeaway treat with traditional fish and chips on Fridays—just let us know if you’d like curry sauce or mushy peas!
